"The Broadway Brawler".

This is one of 45 illustrations. I don't plan on uploading all of the illustrations individually. The Brawler is a comic character I am building a world for. A somewhat auto-biographical, semi-delusional street crime fighter.

Full Christmas Card 2012

Here is a double view of the Christmas card Becky and I made for 2012. I love and miss my friends all the time, even if I am bad at letting them know. Friends are very important and I'm guilty as hell for not being a better one at times.
On a completely different note; I was looking through this blogs history and remembered what I intended that it be; a place to post work and share what I was doing. It doesn't have to be super clean, although that is nice. I wanted this thing to be a safe place to publish anything, the crazier the better. I got obsessed with comparing myself to other artists, trying to be clean and finished and just ended up hating everything Art related. It took all the fun out making stuff, and that's a real bummer. I was thinking a while back of just posting nothing but clean pieces here but I think I'll leave that for my new website which is under construction over at SquareSpace.com. LATER godaddy.

Merry X-mas 2012!

Wow. A good bunch of things happened between now and my last post. I'll keep those stories to myself for now. I just wanted to drop into my blog and say Happy Holidays.

Krint Danner is back.

This is a paint up of the lead character in my new Flash cartoon for 3012 ( assuming 30 is the new 20). The cartoon won't be painted like this. This was only an exercise to get all my "Must include all details" feelings painted out and done with.

Hulk digi paint 7/20/12

This was a drawing I did using one of the many Hulk action figures I own as reference. I drew it again on wood panel so I could oil paint it. I forgot it outside and it was rained on. I took a photo of it all water logged and used that to paint onto in Photoshop. Also, Thank you to Ryan and Beau Berkley for the awesome Hulk piece I got in the mail! It inspired me to continue to draw and paint hulk regularly.

The Beaverton Backyard.

Here is a new one for me. Half Plein Aire painted and half studio.  Acrylic on pre-stretched canvas 36"x18". Painted using Liquitex heavy body, honestly not my favorite but not bad. The canvas I used has been circulating my studio room for years. It gets practiced on, color tested and then Gesso-ed for the millionth time so there are pretty thick layers of cake underneath, I mean paint. An interesting affect to keep in the toolset. I had an amazing time painting this BTW.

It's the Dual role of a lifetime! Sgt. Powell/Winslow. His uniform is a compromise between the Black (Die Hard 1-2) and the baby blues (Family Matters). Up Next?  Holly!

Cattle Skull mini toy paint prog.

I wanted to do an oil painting because I haven't tried one in months. I think the last one i did was a near life size painting of a shotgun back in October. I'll have to post that. I have been playing around with Acrylics lately. I am not thrilled with Acrylic paints, oils just seem dangerous! I just got the itch to paint something devilish and this little Skull toy has a naturally sinister grin. In the finished photo below, I see the silhouette of my head as a background shape, inner demon portrait! Here are a few photos I took while painting.

Pen drawing is great.

I really enjoy drawing with lousy hotel pens. Seriously, I think they have a certain charm to them. Been reading lots of Ray Bradbury short stories. This is from one of my favorites called, "The Fog Horn".
