All Blue!

This painting actually takes place before the red sword. This was done at Ai Portland a couple monday nights ago. My instructor Za Vue finally got me to listen to her and attempt to break my paintings down with the three tone formula/technique. So far I am liking what I am learning.

All Red painting.

Here is a painting in acrylic on wood panel. I am trying paintings with only one color for a while, I am trying to steer my skills out of a self imposed rough patch, so to speak. Breaking down a painting into only three light tones makes things much simpler and more manageable, not only on the canvas and palette but especially in your head when you start thinking of "ways to fix this" Instead of just focusing on experiencing the moment/feeling or energy of the subject.

Nanner dudes comic

Here is a comic I sat down and made up as I went the other day. It was really fun, make any sense you can out of it. Silly stuff but I really would like to keep practicing these.

Who wants pie? Piping hot!

Hey hows it going? I just now remembered that i have not posted a few things that I meant to. These are two separate 16x20 oil paintings i did for a fellow employee. She told me that she wanted to give them as a gift to her boyfriend who would soon be coming home from prison. I don't have a problem telling you this because I asked to her face if she thought these two guns maybe wouldn't really be the most appropriate gift /slash/message? She laughed and reassured me there would be no consequences for a crappy painting.
